🖼 Volunteers Construct Mosaic Mural
From July 16th to 18th close to 300 volunteers joined forces to hand-assemble a sweeping, 70,000-piece glass tile mosaic mural destined for the lobby of Monmouth Medical Center's new Specialty and Cancer Care Center at the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls. Partnering with Texas-based Mosaic Workshop Studio, participants of all ages and skill levels placed thousands of colorful tiles into guided grids during hands-on workshop sessions. Designed to evoke a soothing "waterfall" in calming blue tones, the finished two-story, three-column artwork will span nearly 400 square feet to offer a comforting, restorative focal point for patients and families entering the facility. By bringing together local residents, hospital donors, and area non-profit partners, the installation leaves a lasting imprint of community support embedded directly into the walls of the state-of-the-art healthcare campus.

Located in the heart of downtown, the long-dormant structure is slated to be transformed into a welcoming Visitor Center and terminus for the Henry Hudson Trail, seamlessly bridging local heritage with modern outdoor recreation. Dating back to the 19th century when passenger and freight rail powered Monmouth County's agricultural economy, the restored depot will serve as an informational hub for trailgoers and history enthusiasts alike. By breathing new life into this landmark rail site, the preservation effort ensures that Freehold’s pivotal role in regional transit history remains honored and accessible for generations to come.
🎭 Monmouth Arts “Bring on the Funk” Gala
Monmouth Arts is set to celebrate regional creative brilliance at its upcoming Bring on the Funk gala in Asbury Park, honoring three cultural powerhouses whose influences stretch far beyond the Jersey Shore. The star-studded event will recognize Parliament-Funkadelic mastermind George Clinton, philanthropist and JBJ Soul Kitchen co-founder Dorothea Bongiovi, and acclaimed singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins for their immense contributions to music, community development, and the local arts scene.
