Days Ice Cream Is Oldest In NJ

Since 1876 Days Ice Cream has been serving residents and visitors of Ocean Grove some of the best ice cream around. And that’s saying a lot considering the company they keep. Monmouth County is home to some ice cream institutions like Hoffman’s (Spring Lake) and Jersey Freeze (Freehold). According to mash.com 149 years makes Days the oldest ice cream parlor in New Jersey. Co-owners David Fernicola and Tom Wilson have owned the spot for 26 years themselves.

Despite different proprietors over the past century and a half, Days has remained true to what makes it Days; friendly staff, fun Victorian esthetic, and arguably the best ice cream you’ll find in Monmouth County. You can grab a cone and sit out on the garden deck or take in the Ocean Grove sights like the Great Auditorium or the historic business district. If you’re not hitting up Days as least once during the summer months you are missing out on one of those truly simple seasonal pleasures. Come on, treat yo’self!
