🏥 Riverview Medical Center Opens New Oncology Unit
Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank has recently opened a sophisticated new inpatient oncology unit. 💝 History of Valentine’s Day
The history of Valentine’s Day likely began with the raucous festival of Lupercalia, a mid-February fertility rite that was later "Christianized" by the Catholic Church in the 5th century to honor Saint Valentine. While legends vary—depicting him as either a defiant priest who performed secret marriages or a prisoner who sent the first "Valentine" note—it wasn't until the Middle Ages that the day became synonymous with romance. Influenced by Geoffrey Chaucer’s poetry and the rise of courtly love, the holiday transitioned from a solemn feast to a day of poetic exchange, eventually blooming into the modern celebration of affection and mass-produced sentiment we recognize today.
