Red Bank's ambitious transit-oriented redevelopment is gathering momentum as NJ Transit and local developer Denholtz Properties advance plans to transform underutilized commuter parking lots surrounding the historic rail hub into a dynamic mixed-use destination. Formally structured around land along the North Jersey Coast Line, the multi-phase initiative aims to leverage public assets into a walkable "Live & Ride" community. By pairing new residential options with direct train access, the project is designed to generate reliable non-farebox revenue for NJ Transit, stimulate the regional economy, and seamlessly link Red Bank's West Side neighborhood with its bustling downtown commercial district.

The initial phase, known as The Rail at Red Bank North, centers on a five-story development featuring 175 rental apartments—with 20 percent set aside as affordable housing—and roughly 15,750 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Designed to support both daily commuters and new residents, the site plan incorporates a structured 331-space parking garage with dedicated priority spots for transit riders, alongside a pedestrian-focused "woonerf" street layout and open public plazas. Beyond new housing and storefronts, the project brings extensive public infrastructure improvements, including upgraded bus shelters, improved pedestrian and bicycle safety pathways, and historic preservation elements near the platform.

We can finally stop peeking through the windows at 629 Mattison Ave. in Asbury because Coniglio’s Old Fashioned—widely known as "King of Pies"—has officially opened its doors. Led by 10-time World Pizza Champion and Food Network Chopped winner Nino Coniglio, the celebrated pizzeria expands to Monmouth County following the wild success of its original Morristown location. Taking over the historic 123-year-old building formerly occupied by Killer Pies, the new outpost serves up signature, high-quality whole pies—including their famous Brooklyn Round, Josephine’s Grandma, and Vodka Stracciatella—with future expansion plans aimed at utilizing the entire multi-story property to add a rooftop bar and event space.

Marée French Coastal Bistro & Bar has finally arrived at 1123 3rd Ave. in Spring Lake and we are really excited for this one info. Brought to you by veteran restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach and entrepreneur Bret Morgan, this French coastal bistro and neighborhood bar kicked off its debut with bar service yesterday, with full dinner and drinks running today through Sunday starting at 4 PM. Set inside the historic former Wells Fargo bank building, Executive Chef Mike Smithling is serving up seasonal, locally sourced coastal fare—while the building’s original bank vault has been repurposed into a climate-controlled cellar for an exclusive 12-member Wine Locker Program.
