🩰 Wall’s Dessa Tufts Earns Lead Roll in The Nutcracker in NYC

The Wall Twp. Public School District announced Thursday that eleven-year-old Wall Intermediate School student and accomplished dancer Dessa Tufts has achieved a childhood dream. Dessa was cast in the leading child role of Marie in the New York City Ballet’s famous holiday production of George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker.” She trains six days a week and commutes from Wall to the School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York City. Her debut is on November 28th when the show opens at the David H. Koch Theater. This prestigious role follows her previous NYCB performances in “The Nutcracker,” “Swan Lake,” and “Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Get tickets.

The Super Foodtown in Port Monmouth has permanently closed its doors, with its final day of operation this past Saturday, a week ahead of the previously announced date. The store had served the community on Route 36 for decades. Circus Wines, the adjacent liquor store operated by the same company, remains open.
