Magic Show at Pier Village | Sheryl Crow at Count Basie | Spring Lake Irish Festival

If your clutter turns out to be a little more than can be organized, or maybe there’s really no way to declutter an old broken hot tub, you might need a little more horsepower. That’s where Shore Thing Cleanout comes in. Owned and operated by Monmouth County residents (Wall), Shore Thing is the only name you need to know when it comes to junk removal. From their best around pricing to their bespoke service and attention, they’ll remind you why staying local is so much better.
Good morning and Happy Juneteenth, Monmouth County! The forecast this weekend looks pretty delightful and we have every intention of enjoying as much outdoor fun as possible. However, starting tomorrow, the Jersey Shore Film Festival will be in full swing until July 2. So, after soaking up all that glorious sun during the day, when it starts to set, you may want to consider checking out this very cool event. For nearly two weeks, audience members will have the opportunity to view film projects you probably won’t find at AMC. They’ll even be able to interact with the filmmakers who bring these fascinating ideas to life on the big screen. A $65 pass gets you access to all the scheduled viewings during the festival which honestly seems like a steal. One ticket to the eighth Mission Impossible movie will run you $15.99 plush tax and snacks. Yeah, we didn’t realize there were eight Mission Impossible movies either. 🤷♀️
Below, in the theater & cinema section, you’ll find the events happening this weekend. But if you want more information or to see what’s in store for the entire festival check out their website here.
Let’s go!

How’s the spring cleaning coming? We’ll be the first to admit, decluttering and organizing aren’t exactly our strengths. But being decluttered and organized can be nothing short of a religious experience. We had Tidying by Tash organize our kitchen and it was honestly life-changing. Reach out to Tash and have her bring peace to your space!
🎨 ART, HISTORY, EDUCATION 📚️
Today is Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865, now known as Juneteenth, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, announcing the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. This news came over two years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation (January 1, 1863), as the absence of Union troops in Texas made the order practically unenforceable. When the Union soldiers arrived, Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, freeing 250,000 enslaved people in Texas. Despite advice to remain and work for wages, many immediately left the state in search of family members. Juneteenth, a blend of "June" and "nineteenth," commemorates the end of slavery in America and is considered an independence day by many African Americans. Recognized as a state holiday by nearly all 50 states before 2021, it became a federal holiday on June 17, 2021.
