And congratulations to the newest graduates of the Monmouth County Police Academy who completed 20 weeks of basic police training and raised their right hands yesterday. They now return to their various agencies for additional training in the field before fully hitting the road as newly minted officers. Thank you and be safe out there!

ABRAMZON & DAVID’S DELICATESSE (Old Bridge)

If you’re into the Monmouth County food scene you’ve probably heard about Lita (Aberdeen), Heirloom Kitchen (Old Bridge), and Judy & Harry’s (Asbury Park). All three restaurants are relatively new and make the top of every area critic’s list. From their varied high end cuisine to each’s unique ambiance, you’re going to have a memorable experience at any one of them. And when James Beard Award-nominated restauranteurs have this much success with three separate high end restaurants, what do you naturally expect them to do next? Yeah! Open a deli, obviously!

Last Wednesday, Good Trouble Hospitality opened Abramzon & David’s Delicatesse right next door to Heirloom Kitchen. They keep the menu limited to eight weekly sandwiches with two breakfast sandwiches added on the weekend; but for good reason. You’re getting a sandwich with top shelf made-in-house ingredients that receive the same curative attention you would expect from their restaurants. It reminds us of two years ago when Chef Brandon Heim opened Buoy’s in Manasquan. There’s something weirdly awesome about a serious chef making you a pork roll, egg, and cheese. And if you haven’t been to Buoy’s, do yourself a favor and put it at the top of your list.

CAFE 11 (Sea Bright)

Sea Bright needed this. Anytime a small local spot like this opens we get super hyped. Something as mission critical as your morning caffeine deserves local attention. Now, right across the street from the beach, you can grab your fix. And if that espresso shot hits you with some inspiration, you might meander over to the flagship, Eleven Jiu Jitsu and Recovery, where “pick-me-up” is taken a little more literally.
