🖼️ Long Branch Unveils Branchport Galleries

The Long Branch Arts & Cultural Center has officially doubled its capacity with the grand opening of The Branchport Galleries, located at 577 Broadway. This major expansion, which repurposed the rear portion of the former Bank of America building, introduces four new galleries designed with warm wood flooring and elegant archways. Since the center’s initial debut in 2021, Mayor John Pallone noted that the facility was "bursting at the seams" due to surging interest from local artists and the public. This new wing allows the city to host more exhibitions, provide additional art supplies for hands-on workshops, and further its mission of fostering creative expression within the community.

The inaugural exhibition, titled For the Sake of Art, features a diverse array of wood sculptures, fiber art, and ceramics, while a dedicated space for emerging talent currently showcases Unframed, a student-led collection curated by high school junior Charlotte Mathias. To celebrate this milestone, an opening reception was scheduled for January 15, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, and refreshments. Under the leadership of Arts Director Maggie Fischer, the expanded center aims to serve as a vital hub for Monmouth County artists, offering enhanced educational programs and a larger platform for both established and young creators to share their work.
