Happy Mother’s Day, Monmouth Moms! Since all the Mother’s Day activities were covered in our previous issue, today’s issue will be about the future. Just the next four days though. No flying cars. But we are giving you ample notice about the 2025 New Jersey Seafood Festival in Belmar next weekend. It always catches us by surprise being in mid May for some reason. I think we just expect it in June or July. But it’s a harbinger for summer and we are most certainly down with that.

Let’s go!!

~ Amanda & Rob

“Me mother is the only person who I know love me differently.” ~ Bob Marley

On this day in 1981 the world lost Reggae icon Bob Marley at the age of 36. Fun fact: Marley had 11 children with seven different moms. Now there’s a guy who loved him some Mother’s Day.

Food and Drink

Odyssey Coffee - Ocean Grove

We stopped by Odyssey Coffee a couple weeks back on a pretty dreary Thursday morning. But the light rain was just the right backdrop for the vibe inside.

The drip coffee alone was worth the stop, but that’s not what made Odyssey for us. We were greeted at the door by Joey the owner, a Monmouth University Professor and Wealth Advisor. As soon as you enter the vestibule you feel the vibe. The music, the Vault filled with local art, the vestiges of the bank it once was with tall windows to view Ocean Grove’s historic Main Ave. Sure, it’s a coffee shop. But it’s more than that. Odyssey’s mission: “to curate a vigorous refuge for thinkers with every amazing cup.”
