Arnone, transforms traditional learning into an immersive experience featuring six interactive gaming stations designed to teach students the nuances of recycling through custom-designed video games. By making ecological responsibility both fun and unforgettable, the county aims to inspire small everyday actions that lead to significant environmental protection. Long Branch bids a bittersweet farewell to a local institution as The Mix Lounge & Food Bar officially closed its doors on April 10, 2026. For twenty-five years, the Brighton Avenue staple served as a cornerstone of the West End community, beloved for its eclectic atmosphere, creative martinis, and consistent support of the local arts and music scene. Owners Mike and Di announced the closure with a heartfelt tribute to their loyal patrons, marking the end of an era for a venue that transitioned seamlessly from a cozy neighborhood lounge to a high-energy weekend destination.
The transition to a new chapter is already underway, however, as the space is set to be reimagined as The Pit. Scheduled to debut on May 1, 2026, this new seasonal concept will pivot away from the traditional lounge feel to focus on a BBQ-centric menu and a more laid-back, summer-ready vibe. While the community mourns the loss of the "Mix" era, the quick turnaround ensures that the West End will have a fresh culinary destination just in time for the peak shore season, maintaining the site's legacy as a central gathering spot in Long Branch.
