Good morning Monmouth County and Happy National Ice Cream Day! In case you weren’t aware, today is also National Fortune Cookie Day, National Lollipop Day, National Pennsylvania Day, and National Moon Day 🤷‍♀️. Ice cream seemed like the best and most accessible of those options so we’re running with it.

Monmouth County Fair week is here and we’re not even gonna mention how that means it’s the end of July already. The fair kicks off Wednesday and runs through the weekend. Our pro tip for any fair is to go the first day right when it opens. Fresh everything (including port-o-potties) and lighter crowds. One of us (not Amanda) is allergic to waiting in lines.

Our man on the street Jon Syby aka Jon The Pizza Guy hit up The Blonde Shallot in Sea Girt during the week for a take-away lobster cob salad with basil vinaigrette. He anointed his healthy lunch with a score of 8.4 which means it’s quite tasty. There’s also a Blonde Shallot in Little Silver so no matter what Monmouth County Beach you call home you’re not too far from your very own Jon The Pizza Guy-approved lobster lunch.
