The NJ Clearwater Festival returns to Sunset Park in Asbury Park on Saturday, September 5, continuing a proud tradition of music, environmental activism, and coastal stewardship that first began in 1975 under the inspiration of folk icon Pete Seeger. Presented by the all-volunteer non-profit NJ Friends of Clearwater alongside co-sponsor Clean Ocean Action, the free, family-friendly open-air festival unites the Shore community around safeguarding New Jersey’s waterways and coastal ecosystems. Spanning the park throughout the afternoon and evening, the gathering features live folk and rock performances across multiple stages—including the beloved interactive "Circle of Song"—paired with eco-activist exhibits, local green crafts, food trucks, and children's activities. It stands as one of the state's longest-running grassroots environmental celebrations, combining summer shoreline fun with actionable community stewardship. 🐷 BBQ & Craft Beer Festival at Monmouth Park
The Annual BBQ & Craft Beer Festival returns to Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport for three days of food, brews, and thoroughbred racing this Labor Day weekend, running Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7. Presented by Surfside and the Asbury Park Press, the holiday tradition features nearly 20 regional pitmasters and food trucks serving up slow-smoked ribs, brisket, and pulled pork—including local favorites like Local Smoke BBQ, Magic Mike's Smoked Meats, and El Lechon de Negron—alongside a craft beer garden pouring more than 40 selections. Gates open at 11:00 a.m. with post time for the first race set for 12:50 p.m., while festival attendees can also enjoy live music from noon to 4:00 p.m. all three days (kicking off with After The Reign on Saturday) plus free Family Fun Day activities such as pony rides, bounce houses, and face painting in the picnic area on Saturday and Sunday.
