🥫 Monmouth County Food Drive
The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners has initiated a Countywide Food Drive with county employees and is inviting the public to participate to support local food banks and residents facing challenges from the recent temporary suspension of full SNAP benefits. Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone stated that the Board is proud to launch this drive to make a difference for those relying on local food banks, and Commissioner Susan M. Kiley emphasized that every donation helps ensure no one goes hungry during this time, especially with the holiday season approaching. Members of the public can contribute non-perishable donations at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters Branch (125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan) or the Eastern Branch (1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury). 🏀 ABL Adult Rec Sports League
We’ve been keeping an eye out for adult Recreational Sports opportunities for our Monmouth County friends and low and behold ABL actually came to us. They organize coed and non-coed leagues and tournaments year round in Southern Monmouth County.
They run Spring and Fall coed softball leagues, a Thanksgiving themed coed softball tournament (usually 8 or 10 teams), men’s basketball and men’s flag football leagues. Games are played on the weekends in the Belmar, Manasquan, Brielle, Point Pleasant and Brick areas.
You can organize your own team or sign up as a “free agent.” They’re all about positive vibes and having a great time. Jason, our contact at ABL even met his wife while playing in the league!! So go to their website Join ABL to find out more and get out there for some active grown-up fun!!
