📰 HISTORY WITH HANLON & ARNONE
Step aside Mr. Beast! Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone and Clerk Christine Hanlon are stepping into the influencer space with a new YouTube series titled “History with Hanlon & Arnone.” The first episode of the series has Hanlon and Arnone visiting Laird & Co. Distillery in Colts Neck-the oldest distillery in the United States. Laird & Co. has been making applejack brandy since 1698 and actually received License #1 from the U.S. Treasury in 1780. The quick under four minute episode is a tour of the facility by Laird and Co. President Lisa Laird Dunn. Dunn shows off their store of 2,500 brandy barrels and tells of Laird’s rich history including providing their recipe to George Washington for the Continental Army. Each barrel is made from 7,000 lbs of apples and aged five years, according to Dunn. Hanlon even cracked open one of the barrels herself with a few well-placed mallet strikes.
Leading up to next year’s celebration of our nation’s 250th Anniversary, the series will highlight Monmouth County’s role in U.S. history by visiting some of its most historic and culturally significant landmarks like Monmouth Park and The Stone Pony. It’s a quick, fun watch. Definitely check it out!

ANDERSON MARKET GRAND OPENING
Anderson Market, an exciting new Brooklyn-esque concept housed in the historic century-old Anderson building in Red Bank, opened for business on Monday. The building itself sat vacant for nearly 30 years until being redeveloped in 2006 by Metrovation. Most recently the space was occupied by Sickles of Little Silver; but they shuttered last year. Enter Asbury Park based hospitality group Culture Collective, who brought the new market concept to life. The market features an impressive lineup of local vendors including Namkeen, Booskerdoo Coffee & Bakery, Local 130, Nick & Sons, Molly Boards, The Butcher & The Bull, and Fleur De Mer not to mention
The local influencers and foodies are gushing over the space, the food, and the overall vibe. We’re really excited to check it out this week.
