🏥 Monmouth County Has Safe Hospitals!

The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog for healthcare consumers, has released its Fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grades. The grades are an independent assessment, rating how well hospitals protect patients from preventable harm like accidents, errors, injuries, and infections. Their grading system, which is updated twice a year, assigns a letter grade from "A" to "F" based on a peer-reviewed methodology. Patient safety experts determine the grades by analyzing over 30 performance measures using public data and patient surveys. In the latest report, many New Jersey hospitals received “A” grades including four out of five Monmouth County Hospitals. CentraState in Freehold just missed the top tier with a “B” grade. HMH Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune received a “Straight A” rating for having earned an “A” rating for more than two years in a row.

We have a brand new spot at 5 Broad St. in Red Bank. Street Kitchen Pub just opened on Friday. It’s so new we haven’t even seen anything from the foodie influencers yet. So if you stop by before us, let us know how you like it. The menu looks fun. Kinda street foodie with bao buns, smash burger, cheesesteak, gyro, and more. Their espresso martinis also got a little early Buzz.

Three Great Sets at The Stone Pony Last Night

We stopped by the Pony last night mainly to see our friend Nash Breen filling in on drums for Chad Sabo. But it was a great night to be there overall. Great Oblivion opened up followed by Chad Sabo and both had absolutely killer sets. But the headliner, playing to a sold out crowd, was Surfing for Daisy. This alt-folk ensemble is pretty new to the scene. They still have that new band smell. But they are really something special. Frontman Nick Francis is an absolute powerhouse behind the mic and lead guitar Mike “Noodles” Bernabei was lights out amazing. They’ve put all the pieces together with this project and the result is epic. They’re touring their album right now but do yourself a favor and keep tabs on them. You’ll want to catch them locally as soon as you can.
