Good morning Monmouth County! Looks like solid weather coming our way the next few days, perfect for the bevy of outdoor family movie options not to mention the sizable lineup in the Art, History, and Education section this issue. Add to that that Monmouth University sports are back in action and you’ve got yourself a busy little first half of the week.

And a huge shoutout to The Golden Hour Social marketing agency! We were the very lucky winners of their free content photoshoot giveaway and got to spend the afternoon with them Friday on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. We’re incredibly grateful to have their creative expertise to help us grow this little newsletter. ⛳️ TOPGOLF Approved For Neptune

If we had a dollar for every time we’ve heard “we really need a TOPGOLF around here” over the years we’d have at least twenty bucks. Well the entertainment gods must’ve been listening because the Neptune Township planning board reportedly approved plans at their July 23rd meeting to build a 25,000+ square foot TOPGOLF facility as well as a 5,000+ square foot Quick Chek on a large parcel of land along Route 66. The land was the former home to the Asbury Park Press.

For the uninitiated, TOPGOLF is a driving range on serious steroids. Players step into climate-controlled bays and hit microchipped golf balls that track their distance and accuracy in real time. Their technology provides for a variety of high energy games and you can even enjoy food and drinks while you play. It’s a great venue for everything from a date night, to fun with friends, to a corporate outing.

The facility will be conveniently located right off the Garden State Parkway between the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets and Walmart. Sounds like a home run (or hole in one 🤷‍♂️ ) for Neptune and Monmouth County!

🍹 SWEET TOOTH 🍬 (Asbury Park Boardwalk)

If we could eat everything Josh Berman (IG: joshsfoodnstuff) eats we’d probably be broke with a BMI around 100. But when he hits up places in Monmouth County it’s hard to resist. So we took our sugar-addicted boy gremlins to Sweet Tooth for a treat and it did not disappoint! Sweet Tooth is the follow-on concept of Chocolate Moonshine which is also on the AP Boardwalk as well as in Paramus. This place is a cool treat with super fun tropical drinks, shakes, and top shelf desserts made with real Belgian chocolate. Save up some calories one day and check them out!

🍭 Sugar Pop (Asbury Park Boardwalk)

Even after crushing a Sweet Tooth pina colada (served in an entire hollowed out pineapple), our boys were still jonesing. So at their insistence we stepped right next door to Sugar Pop which has every conceivable form of sugar you can imagine. From gummy snakes that are borderline life size to those old fashioned candy cigarettes. It’s cool to let your kids pretend to smoke, right? They also serve up PinkBerry frozen yogurt which is quite delicious and until now we didn’t even know could be found outside of Manhattan. Who knew?
