🏗️ Lido Asbury Park Ground Breaking Tomorrow

We previously reported on the astounding price tag of a penthouse suite in this swanky new Ocean Ave. condo building next to the Wonder Bar. Well, groundbreaking is scheduled for tomorrow and if the nearly $8 million price tag on that penthouse gives you sticker shock, don’t worry. The smaller units will start at a paltry $1 million.

🥶 Code Blue Alert Extended in Monmouth County

A “Code Blue” alert has been extended across Monmouth County, opening warming centers and shelters for those who need immediate assistance during dangerously cold weather.

The “Code Blue” designation is activated when temperatures are expected to drop below freezing, posing a threat to unsheltered individuals.

• When: The current alert is in effect from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. now through Tuesday, according to 211 New Jersey.

🍕 Vinnie’s Pan Pizza in Brielle

We have a true first world problem in Monmouth County-too much good pizza. So when someone has the audacity to open a pizzeria of all things in this area, they must be either supremely confident or bless their heart silly. As promised we tried out Vinnie’s Pan Pizza in Brielle for our Friday pizza night and it would appear that owner Peter Falzone falls squarely in the supremely confident category. And for great reason. In a pretty crowded field of great Monmouth County pizza, the Buzz on Vinnie’s is spreading fast so they appear to be getting swamped with excited aficionado’s. Their 8.3 Barstool rating absolutely holds up.

When you walk in the front door you can see they are geared up for production. The assembly line and multi tier oven are firing on all cylinders. They’re definitely still fine tuning the process but it’s clear they studied for this test. Our recommendation would be to beat the crowd and order early, like 4pm for your dinner order.

As advertised, it’s a thin crust bar-style pan pie so expect a beautifully uniform pizza with cheese and toppings all the way out to the edge. And that edge-that perfectly caramelized edge-was worth the price of admission alone in our opinion. The garlic knots, also delicious. We can’t wait to try everything else on the menu.
